I search the web constantly for information on my T-shirt business. I do transfers, CAD cutting with Thermofilm and am always looking for new ideas, tips to do a better and easier job.

I happened upon Josh Ellsworth’s website while web searching and WOW….great place to find all kinds of good information even tho I’ve been doing this business for the past 8 years. Jose really does a good job of explaining everything old and new in a way that is so easy to understand. He is technical without being boring … as tho he was right there talking you through something step by step.

Good job Josh!

Josh
I came across your you tube info videos about heat transfer. I am starting my own business, and I need some help. I am starting a home based sporting goods biz and I want to cater to local youth org. and specialty teams. The youth org. hold county and state tourneys and I want to create shirts both for the tourney and individuals.

Your videos I found truly helpful since I have no idea where to start with heat transfer. I don’t know what to buy, where to buy or how to do it.

Can you help guide me in the right direction???

Sincerely,
Robert Cirillo

Ivor

In order for a vinyl cutter to trim around images that have been printed it needs to have the optic eye sensor - like the Roland GX-24 cutter.

I have limited knowledge in this field - however I would recommend contacting Jack from Alpha Supply. His website is http://www.mugpresses.com

He would be able to direct you to the right printer/ink combination as well as the right mug press for your needs.

I just viewed your Roland GX-24 Vinyl Cutter Optic Eye video several times.
I’m interested in what material and what printer/ink combination that was used in making this transfer. I just ordered a Craft Robo Pro and will want to do vinyl transfers onto t-shirts.
All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Joseph

Saw your video on YOUTUBE. Very impressed. I have a US Cutter and Stahls heat press. Would this equipment work with what you demonstrated? Tried to call but unable to get through. Please contact me.

Hi Pat
Not sure which video you’re referring to - can you clarify? If its the heat press vinyl video you can use the material.

hi, Josh,

I came upon your video and website. It’s very informative and helpful. thanks for posting them. I have a Roland VP printer/cutter and had been doing banner and signs etc. but I am thinking about doing heat transfer T-shirt printing also. What is the heat transfer vinyl material you used for the Roland printer/cutter? I saw a lot of different material but not sure which one is the best. Thanks again for your informative website.

Hi Josh, Please help!!! I have used your demo on the superman logo step by step. However, when my roland gx 24 goes to cut it misses the logo and cuts below the image. WHY??? Do some settings need to change or am I doing something wrong. I have tried this about 50 times and it does the same thing. Thanks Dorothy

Hi Josh,
I had contacted you a little while ago with a problem with my gx24, whereby it ws not cutting out my image correctly. This problem has now been rectified. Thank you. However, we have now upgraded our laptops and purchased vista, and yes, we can not install the drivers to enable us to continue with work. WHY??? It really does not download anything correctly do you have any advise or suggestions?
Thank you
Dorothy

Filipa (10:37:41) :

Hi Josh,

First of all thank you very much for all your videos. I’ve been checking them and found them to be extremely useful.
I’m about to buy my first equipment to start my clothing print home based business.
I’m based in the UK and found this website that offers great packages, not sure about the quality tho:
http://www.domglobal.com/
Obviously it’s not Roland, but to start with seems like a good bet.

After much research and post on tshirtsforum.com I still have one question:
- when using the eye optical vynil cutter am I actually using vynil materials or do I use simple inkject transfer paper using my Epson printer? (is the main advantage not to have to peel the unwanted paper using scissors, etc?) What are the limitations when using this process instead of vynil?
- to use the rolls of vynil I will always have to “weed” the unwanted vynil right?

Thank you very much,
Filipa Miranda
