Wake Up and Bring the Bling to Your Customers!

Business owners like you or your boss are always looking for ways to make the sale or in some cases make more money on the sale.  One of the most effective ways to make more money on a sale is to up sell the customer to a more profitable product.

With apparel decorating one of my favorite ways to do this is to take a customer design and elevate it.

Say this line out loud with a little sales swagger:  ”If you want basic, I can give you basic.  But if you want to stand out, just wait until you see looks we have for you!”

Special effect print techniques can take a $15 customized garment for a group and turn it into a $25+ garment with little additional cost.

But in order to profit from special effect finishes, make more money and earn more business, you have to know the options, create some samples and commit to sell them.  Really, you have to “wake up”!

That “we’ve always done it this way” funk or that “all we do is names and numbers” funk is stunting growth….it really is.

I had a heartfelt conversation with a long time Stahls’ customer in the Sporting Goods Industry.  He told me that he didn’t realize the type of interest that he would have in these “new” materials.  He said, “I’m so glad you all kept on me to try this stuff”.  He said, “sometimes you just have to wake us up and say listen!”.  If you’re that shop owner, or your boss is that shop owner.  This is the wake up call!

Our Customer Service Team Believes in our new Heat Transfer Vinyl

It’s been almost 2 days since we launched the new CAD-CUT Premium Plus and we’ve already taken lots of new orders.  To be honest, this is the first product launch of this caliber where customers have ordered in this volume without even trying the product first….

Why?

We Believe, so our customers do too!

Here’s what I mean….

This product has our entire team really enthused, and our customers trust our team.

Did you know that we’ve been in business for over 75 years.  Our customer service department has 30+ reps with 450 years of combined experience.  That sounds crazy, but its true…450 years of knowledge and helpful experience giving advice daily to our customers.  We have some reps that have been here 25+ years themselves.

At Stahls’ we place a huge emphasis on training.  So these reps have seen it all.  With Premium Plus there were 4 days of training…cycling through groups of reps while we make sure to cover the phone lines to answer your calls.  Each rep had the opportunity to weed CAD-CUT Premium Plus and heat apply a 3 color USA/Eagle design on front of a t-shirt (pictured below).  During this process, one rep from each group got to weed our top competitors material with the same exact design….let’s just say, we weeded and applied Premium Plus to the shirt before the rep finished weeding the competitors material.  This exercise helped to connect the fact that it’s the easiest to weed.

With our team and our product, hands on is important….let’s just say they don’t  listen to everything they’re told…they have to see it.  Just telling them that it will outlast the garment isn’t enough.  One rep, Keith S., took his sample that he applied in the preview session in February and brought it back to the launch training in May…his words “Josh, I washed it myself and dried it….you’re right this stuff is good and now I can sell it to customers that trust me for advice”.  This is just one example, there are many more.

In case you’re interested some other things that the training included were how this fit into our line up, why we developed this product and how it compared to other prices on the market.  The end result it that we firmly believe as a team that this is a product that will deliver new, exciting sales opportunities to our customers and consequently deliver sales growth for us.

Over the next couple weeks, I’ll share more about Premium Plus….but I wanted to make sure to tell you about our training programs and our fantastic team.  Below is a photo of some them sporting the shirts they made in the training class.
