2012 Trade Shows Kick Off – Check out the videos

25 Jan

It’s always a lot of fun to attend the Imprinted Sportswear Show in Long Beach every January!  It seems like the exhibitors are showing their latest and attendees are buzzing with interest, hope and the promise of a new year.

At Stahls’ we usually pump out some new products at this show and some for the Atlantic City show in March.  This year will be the same.

In Long Beach we formally introduced CAD-CUT® Premium Plus and Glitter Flake to the Western United States and we also reminded customers that Thermo-FILM® is still the best selling material for athletic lettering and numbering for a reason.  You can check out how we explained that each of these materials fits into the segment called Team Business in order to grow sales.  Here is the video:

Also, we rolled out a host of new special effects and a new price structure on Sportfilm Lite.  Below is another video, showing the range we now offer direct from the manufacturer.

Soon, we’ll be packing up for ISS Atlantic City and while we don’t have any new materials planned for heat transfer vinyl, you can expect us to make some noise in other product groups that comprise heat printing technology.  I can’t reveal the secrets just yet, but I know it will be worth the wait.

Other products that debuted in Long Beach that are worth a look are as follows:

Stahls’ now sells loose rhinestones as well as a selection of stock rhinestone transfers: CLICK HERE

Stahls’ presented distressed twill and flock as a custom cut service…we cut it and send the sew disk when needed: CLICK HERE

Who’s Next? Why not Adidas with their Under the Lights Uniforms?

6 Sep

The beat goes on…we’ve seen a record number of hits to the blog as we’ve shared with you progressive looks for this years college football uniforms from sporting goods powerhouses Nike and Under Armour.  Now all eyes turn to Adidas.

The University of Michigan will play Notre Dame this weekend on Saturday night (9-10-11) at 8:00pm EST on ESPN.

Both teams will be decked out in Adidas’ Under the Lights throwback  jerseys to commemorate the first night game played in Michigan Stadium.  I think the look can be best described as a fusion between current style jersey performance (tight fit compression) and retro numbering & lettering design.  A nice blend of old and new.

Although Adidas plays in the same market space as Nike and UA, I don’t feel like these looks are in the same vein of “fashion forward” that we saw this past weekend.  They are almost a step back into time, back into the playbook of Mitchell & Ness, which I find refreshing and not so “me too”.

Overall, I like the looks and being a fan of the color green, I really like the Irish Jerseys (although I won’t be rooting for them).

If I could have designed this, I would make one suggestion.  I’d like to see a little more of the “under the lights” theme incorporated rather than just the Photoshop work on the photographs.  Since the jerseys are being sold to fans, details like reflective accents in team colors or a glow in the dark element in the design would have delivered something out of the box and interesting for retail.

So what do you think?
