Did you know that my blog – www.joshellsworth.com has been online now for 3 years? As far as I know, it was the first blog providing advice for apparel decorators online. I’m glad to see that since the launch of this blog, many other have sprouted up contributing very helpful insights to you – the apparel decorator or aspiring entrepreneur. The 3 years that I have been online have brought a lot of benefits to you, my reader and even more to me. As you may know or not know, I’ve recently accepted a new job with Stahls’. I’ll be announcing more details on this very soon, but I must say that doing things such as blogging, videos, articles etc. along with your feedback and support has created this opportunity. For that I thank you! To celebrate my new position and the 3 year anniversary of my blog , I’ve pulled some of my favorite comments posted by “you” over the years – they are shared verbatim, below.
Looking forward to a 2010 where I connect even more with you. Please feel free to post a comment of your own, they are always read and appreciated. You can now subscribe to my blog in the reader of your choice or by entering you email in the right sidebar.

“I search the web constantly for information on my T-shirt business. I do transfers, CAD cutting with Thermofilm and am always looking for new ideas, tips to do a better and easier job.
I happened upon Josh Ellsworth’s website while web searching and WOW….great place to find all kinds of good information even tho I’ve been doing this business for the past 8 years. Jose really does a good job of explaining everything old and new in a way that is so easy to understand. He is technical without being boring … as tho he was right there talking you through something step by step.
Good job Josh!”
Thanks Sharon – you were one of the first readers to comment on my blog and provided encouragement for me to keep learning and writing.

“Thank you Josh for taking your valuable time to present a well layed out and very informative video to assist folks on the net with a few solutions to otherwise challenging questions when it comes to a press that might best fit their needs. It helped me decide our next press purchase. Blessings, Barry @ LibertyCustoms.com”
Thanks Barry – your heat press is one of the most important decisions, since it directly effects the durability of the graphic on the garment.

“perfect video..It is a pleasure to hear and see instructions explained in a way that anyone can understand.Thank you. I am picking up your floor model of the gx24 today. It is my first cutter. I needed it to get rid of the edges around transfer paper, but you are opening up new revenue streams for me….thank you for that too.”
Thanks Allen – I still remember meeting you at the trade show and helping get you set up with your first cutter. Hopefully things are still going well for you and your business.

Congratulations!! THank you for teaching so much to so may!
Mr. Ellsworth:
I saw your great video on the above topic, except yours was for the GX-24. In your instructional video you import an image and then you go to “File, Print and Cut”, which puts “registration marks on the screen. I have the same software and did the same thing, but when I attempt to go to “Print and Cut”, it is not highlighted on my drop down list, not allowing me to use the “Print and Cut” feature. Why?
I have a new SV-12 Roland Cutter, and the website that I bought if from, say’s the following:
Print/Cut Solution
In addition to cutting vinyl and other materials, the new StiKa SV-8 makes an easy-to-use and cost-effective print/cut solution. Users print registration marks with their desktop printer, load the printed graphic into the cutter, send the file to the StiKa SV-8 and it contour cuts the graphics. It’s perfect for creating colorful T-shirt graphics, stickers and more.
Please note: the SV-12 uses a manual registration system for contour cutting and not an automatic optical registration system like the Roland GX-24. Users must use the software to move the cutting head over the printed registation marks and set the registration points within the software prior to contour cutting.
Doesn’t this mean I should be able to use the Cut Studio software and put registration marks on it, just like in your video? Also, after I get the registration marks, how do I feed and adjust the opaque paper into the Roland SV-12 cutter? Confused, please help. Thx.
Hector
Congratulations on the new job Josh!
