I’m off to the SGIA show – to demonstrate

22 Oct

Well, if you’ve been following my blog for sometime now, you might have noticed that I have turning out articles that cover subjects in detail.  While I will continue to do these pillar articles - and aim for at least one a month – I want to keep things active, so you will now be getting less formal posts more frequently updating you on what I am doing. So to start – I just finished packing my bags for the SGIA show.  This 4 day show is one of my favorites.  It’s probably the biggest show that I attend all year and it has vendors from all over the world showing the latest in ‘imaging’ technology.  It really focuses on screen printing, but also shown will be direct to garment printing, heat press applications, embroidery, sign making and much more.

This year, the show is in Orlando (last year was Vegas).  Our booth, Imprintables Warehouse, will have a few of our auto open Phoenix Phire heat presses, as well as 2 – Roland GX-24 cutters, 1 Roland Versacamm & a Hotronix Air Swinger heat press.  We have a 10 x 30′ booth size.

This year we will be having Chris Pfriem from ACG leasing help us in the booth – to assist with on site approvals for customers looking to invest in equipment.  I also will be meeting with folks from Impressions Magazine to talk about articles for the upcoming year (my ongoing series on eBranding from this year is almost finished) as well as with Roland to discuss how everything is going with their machines that we sell.  (we have been selling the GX-24′s for more than 2 years now and have mostly all positives to report from our customers)

Other agenda items that I hope to get accomplished is to walk the show prior to it opening on a few of the days to see if anything is new.  I will be paying particular attention to the Direct to garment printing machines to see if they have made any improvements for dark garments.  So far I have been unimpressed and have had a number of customers who have purchased the garment printers and come back to me for the Versacamm for doing darks.  Of course – we will be showing the Versacamm with the intention on it complimenting the garment printers for current owners or being a viable alternative for companies looking to invest.

Dining on the agenda will definitely includes Charley’s Steakhouse.  A must for any steak lover.  I’d rank it in my top 5 for sure.

Anyways, hopefully I’ll have time to update you while I’m at the show, but if not I will definitely report how it went when I return….
